The French striker complained of muscle pain, and after undergoing the necessary medical tests, it was confirmed that he has a strain in his right thigh.
Inter did not specify how long Thuram will be out during this crucial period of the season. The statement simply stated that the condition is not serious and that the player will be monitored day by day.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Thuram’s absence will not be prolonged, and he is likely to participate in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona.
The 27-year-old will initially miss Sunday’s match against Bologna and will be in a race against time to be fit for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Milan.
If all goes well, Thuram will participate in next week’s match against Roma and will be 100% fit for the match against Barcelona, scheduled to be held at the Estadio Olimpico Luis Companys.
Thuram is a key player in coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad, as evidenced by the numbers, having scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 44 matches in all competitions this season.
