De Gea Completes Agreement with New Club After More Than a Year Out

David de Gea will finally return to football after completing a deal to join Italian club Fiorentina this summer.

Since leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract in the summer of 2023, de Gea has not joined any other club but has maintained his fitness through individual training.

According to Italian media, de Gea will sign a one-year contract with Fiorentina and will earn €1 million plus bonuses.

The player traveled to Italy in recent hours to undergo a medical and sign a contract that includes an option to renew for another year and double the player’s salary if both parties agree.

The move to Fiorentina comes just days after the failure of de Gea’s negotiations with another Italian club, Genoa, due to differences over the financial compensation.

It is worth noting that de Gea’s first match with La Viola will be on Saturday, August 17 against the newest Serie A arrival, Parma.
