Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong confirmed that he has been suffering from a mental crisis in the last year due to the many injuries he has suffered, indicating how frustrated he is at being away from the stadiums for the past 6 months.
De Jong suffered a severe ankle injury last April, and so far he has not fully recovered and has not participated in any match with Barcelona this season.
The Dutch international spoke to the media and said, “The club tells me that I am currently improving, but the ankle remains sensitive, I hope to return as soon as possible.”
He also added, “Every day I wake up and look at my ankle to see my condition, I am really going through a mental crisis because of this matter.”
He continued, “There are a lot of untrue rumors circulating around me, such as that I am receiving 37 million or a number like that, I do not even receive a number close to that number at Barcelona.”
“There is no truth to what was said that I refused to undergo surgery. From the beginning, the club and I agreed not to undergo surgery. Everything that is said about me is completely far from reality,” he concluded.
It is worth noting that De Jong is closer to returning to the stadiums after the next international break, unless he finds something new. Thus, he can participate in the Clasico at the end of next October.
