Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, considered that his club’s contract with Neymar is “far-fetched” due to the high cost of such a deal.
Neymar is close to leaving Al Hilal, amid great interest from his parent club Santos to sign him, in addition to American offers from Chicago Fire.
Deco was asked about the possibility of contracting with Neymar, to which he replied, “In his best condition, Neymar is one of the best players in the world, he is welcome at any club in the world.”
He also added, “The idea of Neymar returning to Barcelona was very far away, we realize that it is very expensive financially, especially in terms of financial fair play rules.”
He concluded, “Certainly, the idea of contracting with him cannot be ruled out, but at the moment it seems clear that he is closer to moving to Saudi Arabia.”
The crisis between Neymar and Al Hilal remains over his dues amounting to 65 million euros. The Saudi club wants him to waive them to allow him to leave, while the player still wants his full money.
