Despite hat-trick, Guardiola: Messi is better than Haaland!

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to acknowledge that his striker Erling Haaland is the most complete striker in the history of football.

Haaland had scored a hat-trick against Ipswich Town in the second round of the Premier League, leading City to a 4-1 victory and an early top spot.

After the match, a journalist asked Guardiola if Haaland was the most complete striker given his extraordinary numbers year after year.

Guardiola replied decisively, “The most complete striker I’ve ever seen in my life is Lionel Messi. I’ve never seen anyone like him.”

This is not the first time Guardiola has affirmed Messi’s superiority over any player in the world. Every time he talks about the Argentine flea, he never stops praising him and considering him the greatest of all time.

It is worth mentioning that Haaland lost the Ballon d’Or in 2023 to Messi, despite the Norwegian international achieving a historic treble with City. However, winning the World Cup sealed the deal for the current Inter Miami star.
