Robert Lewandowski’s contract with Barcelona will be automatically renewed for another year, to continue with the Catalan club until the summer of 2027.
According to the newspaper “Sport”, Lewandowski’s contract with Barça includes that it will be automatically renewed for another year if he participates in 55% of the matches this season.
The Polish international needs only two matches to achieve this condition, so that extending the contract becomes a reality for all parties.
As for Barcelona, the club does not mind Lewandowski continuing, but a large part supports him, although another part prefers to sign a young striker next summer.
Lewandowski’s renewal does not bother Barcelona in general, even the voices calling for the inclusion of another striker, as the 36-year-old has great productivity this season that makes everyone ignore his advanced age.
The former Bayern Munich star contributed to Barça this season in 33 goals by scoring 30 goals and making 3 others.
It remains to be noted that Lewandowski is the first player in the top five leagues to score 30 goals this season.
