Despite the victory over Osasuna, Barcelona loses one million euros!

Barcelona is now required to pay an additional one million euros to Racing Club after the Catalans achieved an important 3-0 victory over Osasuna on Thursday in La Liga.

Pablo Torre came on as a second-half substitute for Frenkie de Jong, completing his tenth appearance for Barça this season.

Toure’s contract with Barcelona stipulates that Racing Club will earn one million euros for every ten matches in which he plays for 45 minutes or more, up to a maximum of 140 matches.

By playing against Racing Club, he completed his tenth appearance, meaning Barça will be required to pay one million euros, in addition to the five million already paid two years ago to bring him to Camp Nou.

This will not be the last payment Racing Club will receive from Torre. There is an additional clause that allows the club to receive an additional sum if the player moves from Barcelona to another club, in addition to one million euros if he plays at least 45 minutes for the Spanish national team.

The 21-year-old was loaned to Girona last season, before Hansi Flick confirmed his importance this season by keeping him in his squad, playing a role, albeit a minor one, in the Blaugrana’s lead at the top of La Liga and their run to the Champions League quarter-finals.
