The “Filgoal” website revealed that the Confederation of African Football has tentatively set the date and location for the 2024 African Super Cup match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek.
Al-Ahly won the African Champions League title after defeating Esperance 1-0 on aggregate, while Zamalek achieved its second title in the Confederation Cup after defeating RS Berkane 2-1 on aggregate.
According to the latest report, the Super Cup match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek will take place between the 25th and 30th of next September.
The location of the match has not yet been decided, but it is most likely that the match will be held in the New Administrative Capital in Egypt, after the Egyptian Federation submitted a request to host the summit.
Although CAF announced that it had received offers from some Middle Eastern countries to host the African Super Cup, the only offer currently available is the Egyptian offer.
Saudi Arabia announced, through the head of the Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, that it does not intend to host the African Super Cup.
At the same time, it was said that Qatar has an interest in hosting the match, especially since it has previously hosted the African Super Cup on more than one occasion.
For its part, Egypt submitted a request to host the match to serve as the inauguration of the Misr Stadium in the New Administrative Capital. The most likely thing is that the land of the Pharaohs will host the Cairo derby, but for the first time outside Cairo Al-Moez.
