Diallo Overcomes Grief to Score for United Against Brighton

Amad Diallo was initially expected to miss Manchester United’s Premier League match against Brighton due to personal reasons.

English newspapers reported that Diallo had received news of the death of his stepmother, whom he considered a mother figure, earlier that morning. As a result, manager Erik ten Hag had decided to leave him out of the Brighton match.

However, the Ivorian star was determined to play in the match and informed his manager that he was ready to overcome his grief. Ten Hag subsequently included him in the starting lineup at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton took the lead in the first half through Danny Welbeck, but in the second half, Diallo managed to equalize despite his emotional turmoil.

The 22-year-old dedicated the goal to the memory of his stepmother, perhaps the best tribute he could pay to her and the Manchester United fans.
