Some of Pep Guardiola’s words have caused a great deal of controversy about his future with Manchester City.
The Spanish coach’s contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of this season, and so far he has not made a decision about renewing it or ending his historic journey in English stadiums.
When Guardiola was asked at the press conference before the Fulham match about his future, he replied, “I do not want to comment on this.”
But the historic Barcelona coach returned and stirred controversy with words that many newspapers considered as a hint that his journey with City would soon end.
Guardiola said, “I fell in love with City from the first moments I came here, but what happens next will happen.”
He concluded, “Manchester City runs in my blood, and the best way to defend this club is to win matches and do my job perfectly. I will continue to defend this club because I believe in it.”
