The Egyptian Olympic team qualified for the quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics after defeating Spain 2-1 in the final group stage match.
Egypt’s two goals were scored by Ibrahim Adel in the 40th and 60th minutes, while Spain’s only goal was scored by Samuel Omorodion in the 90th minute.
Egypt reached 7 points after drawing with the Dominican Republic and winning against Uzbekistan and Spain, topping the group, while “La Roja” finished second with 6 points.
The Egyptian team will now face the runner-up of Group 4 in the quarterfinals on Friday at the Ville de Reims Stadium.
So far, Paraguay is the runner-up of Group 4, and the final round of matches will be played at 10 pm Mecca time.
