An Arab medal in football for the first time in history is now guaranteed after both Morocco and Egypt qualified for the semi-finals.
Morocco began with a resounding 4-0 victory over the United States, with Sofiane Rahimi continuing his impressive form.
Egypt managed to come back from a goal down, thanks to Ibrahim Adel’s late equalizer against Paraguay, and then won the penalty shootout 5-4, thanks to the brilliance of goalkeeper Hamza Alaa.
Egypt will now face the hosts, France, after Les Bleus won 1-0 against Argentina, while Morocco will face Spain in a repeat of their World Cup match.
