Emam Ashour contributed to Al-Ahly achieving an important victory over its guest Smouha with a score of 2-0, in the postponed match of the fifth round of the Egyptian League 2024-25.
Mohamed Magdy Afsha scored for the Red Devils in the last minute of the second half, then Emam Ashour ended Smouha’s hopes of a comeback with a second goal in the 50th minute.
Perhaps the most talked about thing in the Egyptian media in the coming hours is the way Emam Ashour celebrated his goal.
The Egyptian star took out a white balloon and blew it up, which is a famous way of celebrating that many players inside and outside the Arab region have done.

This celebration is specifically famous for Christopher Nkunku, the current Chelsea player, while Ali Al-Bulayhi, the star of Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia, did it more than once in the Arab world.
This celebration is seen as a response to the criticism, but considering that the balloon was white, the theories of its owner started a big debate about whether Emam was referring to his former team Zamalek or something related.
It is worth noting that Al-Ahly’s victory over Smouha made it top the Egyptian League standings with 15 points, one point ahead of Zamalek and Pyramids after 7 rounds of the tournament.
