Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique denied that Kylian Mbappé insulted him following his substitution in Marseille’s last match.
French media said that Mbappe called Enrique a “son of a bitch” when he was substituted in the 64th minute of the French Clásico, in an expression of his anger at this decision.
After the match, the Spanish coach confirmed that he is the one who makes the decisions about who plays and who leaves, and there is no need to discuss with him the reasons for replacing Mbappe.
Enrique was asked again about the truth of what Mbappe was said to have done, to which he replied, “I am very happy with what all the players at Paris Saint-Germain, including Mbappe, are offering.”
He also added, “I’m really curious to know who told this lie? It wasn’t just a lie that spread and then it started spreading everywhere with a lot of incorrect speculation.”
He concluded, “Mbappe has always behaved appropriately, and I am really happy with all my players who behave like this. I am doing my job to the fullest.”
Paris Saint-Germain is preparing to face Rennes and then Clermont in the French League, after which it will meet Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
