El Nacional newspaper revealed that a thaw in the relationship between Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, has occurred in the past few days.
Serra had filed for divorce from Guardiola last summer, and it was said that this was one of the reasons for the coach’s distraction and poor season with Manchester City.
In recent days, Guardiola left Manchester for Barcelona, where he spent three days at the family mansion and agreed with his wife to give their relationship a second chance.
It is said that one of the reasons for his wife’s desire to separate was Guardiola’s two-year contract renewal, while she preferred to return to Barcelona and leave England.
This raises several questions about the possibility of Guardiola leaving City at the end of the season, or whether his wife has agreed to return to England for another year for the sake of the family.
It is assumed that the improvement in the “philosopher’s” family situation will return his full focus to the pitch, and therefore Manchester City will not be an easy opponent at all next season.
