The newspaper “Marca” revealed that a major meeting will bring together officials of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) with Real Madrid’s management during the next few days.
This meeting aims to do two things: the first is to discuss Real Madrid’s participation in the 2025 Club World Cup and the distribution of the financial returns from the competition, while the other is the stadium for the 2030 World Cup final.
FIFA chose Real Madrid’s stronghold, the Santiago Bernabeu, as the venue for the 2030 World Cup final, which is scheduled to be held in Portugal, Spain and Morocco.
Morocco has tried a lot over the past months to have the final match held on its territory, but it faced fierce competition from Spain as well as Portugal, which openly declared its desire to host the most important event in the history of football.
For FIFA, the Santiago Bernabeu is the ideal place to hold the 2030 World Cup final, given the stadium’s historical value, as well as the tremendous development it has undergone in the last two years.
The current crisis is that FIFA will need Real Madrid to leave the field three months before the World Cup in order to prepare it for the big event, which is difficult for the Spanish club to achieve.
It is assumed that the matter will be discussed in detail during the meeting between the two parties, and Real Madrid may relent, given that the club will reap huge profits from hosting the World Cup final that exceed the profits from the important parties and events that the stadium receives.
