French football legend Patrice Evra believes that Argentina’s victory in the 2022 World Cup at his country’s expense was pre-ordained by FIFA to fulfill Lionel Messi’s dream of winning the title.
Argentina won the 2022 World Cup final at Lusail Stadium in Qatar against France on penalties after a 3-3 draw after extra time.
Evra said in a media statement, “We all know that France didn’t win the 2022 World Cup because FIFA gave it to Lionel Messi.”
He added, “Even the French wanted Lionel Messi to win the World Cup in Qatar, as there was a penalty kick not awarded by Polish referee Szymon Marciniak at the end of the final against Argentina. Everything was already written.”
Concluding his remarks, Evra defended current France coach Didier Deschamps, saying, “When I hear people belittle him even though he still has a year and a half left on his contract, that, to me, is disrespectful.”
