Barcelona’s management has reached an agreement with its counterpart at Leipzig for the transfer of Dani Olmo to the Catalan club this summer.
Barça’s sporting director, Deco, traveled to Germany to meet with Leipzig officials in hopes of narrowing the differences after two previous offers were rejected by the German club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Deco’s efforts have been successful, and an agreement has indeed been reached between the two clubs to complete the deal.
Barcelona will pay €55 million as a fixed fee for the deal, which will not be paid in one lump sum but rather in installments, a proposal that Leipzig has finally accepted, along with another €7 million in variables depending on the player’s individual and collective successes.
In July, Barcelona reached an agreement with Olmo himself, with the player set to sign a long-term contract for six years at a salary that will start small and then increase in line with the club’s financial fair play rules.
Olmo is now expected to travel to Spain in the coming hours to undergo a medical and sign the contracts, although the issue of registering him immediately in the La Liga squad remains unclear due to the club’s economic situation and its problems with the La Liga association.
