Barcelona coach Hansi Flick expressed his great satisfaction with the Catalan club’s 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the second round of the Spanish League.
Speaking to the media after the match, the German coach said, “We had passion and enthusiasm, and I am very happy with this victory, but I demand more calm.”
He added, “I am also happy for Lewandowski because he trains well and never stops pressing on the pitch, which is great.”
Flick was asked about what happened between him and Nico Williams after the end of the match, after the Basque player was on the verge of joining Barcelona this summer but then backed out.
Flick replied, “I didn’t say anything to him, all I did was congratulate him on winning Euro 2024 with Spain.”
Barcelona top the La Liga table after two rounds, having won 2-1 against Valencia and by the same score against Bilbao, with their next task being to host Rayo Vallecano on Tuesday.
