Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick, confirmed that Ansu Fati has not yet been able to regain his level after recovering from his recent injury, which greatly frustrates the German.
Flick excluded Fati from the two matches of the Spanish Super Cup and did not even put him on the bench, which many considered as an announcement that his services were not needed.
The German coach was asked about this in the press conference before the Real Betis match in the King’s Cup, to answer by saying, “When I arrived at Barcelona, I said that Ansu was in very good condition.”
He also added, “Unfortunately, after his injury, Fati was not able to show his abilities at 100%, this is very disappointing.”
He concluded, “I was convinced that he could return to his level, I am always honest with the players, he has to work like any other player to participate with us.”
It is still possible that Fati will leave before the end of the current winter transfer market, amid interest from Spanish clubs in him in particular, and with what has been reported about a conflict between Besiktas and Fenerbahce in Turkey to sign him.
