Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, considered that his team is very far from competing for the English Premier League title this season.
The Spanish coach’s statements came after his team drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace, leaving them with only one victory in their last 8 matches in all competitions.
Guardiola told the media after the match, “We cannot talk about the title race when we lose four games in a row and draw.”
He added, “It is a season of suffering, and in the end we managed to get a point today after fighting incredibly.”
He concluded, “I am very proud of the team, I liked everything about the team and how we fought, we had a lot of problems but we fought wonderfully.”
With the draw, Manchester City reached 27 points in fourth place, 8 points behind Liverpool, with one match less for the Reds. If they succeed in winning it, the difference will become 11 points after 15 rounds.
It is noteworthy that City is the Premier League title holder for the last 4 consecutive seasons, and Guardiola led it to win the title 6 times in the last 8 years, and the Spanish coach only lost the title to Chelsea in 2017 and Liverpool in 2020.
