Defensa Central revealed that representatives of Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk offered his services again to Real Madrid last week.
The Dutch international’s contract with the Reds expires at the end of this season, and negotiations have so far stalled. The player is looking for a new destination and favors a move to Real Madrid.
Van Dijk’s representatives contacted Real Madrid last January, but the response was a refusal due to the club’s policy of only signing young players.
According to a network close to Real Madrid, another contact took place between Van Dijk’s representatives and Real Madrid last week, and again the Spanish response was a refusal.
This time, the refusal came directly from President Florentino Pérez, who clearly prefers his club to sign a younger, more reliable central defender for years to come, despite his high regard for Van Dijk’s abilities and his recognition of him as one of the best defenders in the world.
Real Madrid are specifically targeting 19-year-old Bournemouth defender Dean Huysen, who has a release clause of just €60 million.
It should be noted that 34-year-old Van Dijk has received a substantial offer from Paris Saint-Germain, in addition to significant financial offers from Saudi Arabia.
