Vinicius Junior received a red card, during his participation in his team Real Madrid’s match against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium.
The red card came after returning to video technology, as Vinicius was seen assaulting Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dmitrievski.
The goalkeeper first provoked Vinicius after touching him and asked him to stand up, so the Brazilian responded forcefully by hitting him in the head in a scene that the referee saw as worthy of a direct expulsion.
Coincidentally, this is the second red card Vinicius has received in his career with Real Madrid, and it came again against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium.
The first red card was in May 2023 after the fans provoked him with racist chants, but this time it came after assaulting the Bats goalkeeper.
It is noteworthy that the Spanish media reported that Vinicius was also subjected to racist chants today, which justifies his nervous state while leaving the field after the expulsion.
Before the match, Valencia fans raised banners mocking Vinicius’ loss of the Golden Ball, which seemed to have affected the player and increased his anger, eventually leading to his expulsion.
