For the third time in less than two months, Rodrygo is injured

Real Madrid announced that their star Rodrygo will be absent from the match against Girona on Saturday in La Liga due to a muscle injury in his left foot.

The Brazilian star had returned from injury last round, where he participated as a starter and led Real Madrid to a 2-0 victory over Getafe at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Until Friday, Rodrygo was not suffering from an injury, but tests on Saturday showed that he would not be able to participate against Girona.

In general, this is the third muscle injury that has struck Rodrygo in his left foot in less than two months.

The 24-year-old was injured in late October, specifically in the match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, to miss the next Clasico and be away from the stadiums for about 3 weeks.

Rodrygo then returned to action but was injured after just 15 minutes in the Osasuna game and was substituted, before returning last week to play against Getafe, which was said to be much earlier than the previous scheduled return date.

Now the Brazilian has been injured again, and the length of his absence remains unknown, and it is not known whether his exclusion from the Girona game was to ensure his participation against Atalanta on Tuesday, or whether he will also miss the decisive Champions League match.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid are suffering from a number of other injuries, most notably Vinicius Junior, who has begun to recover and is said to be able to make it to the Atalanta game.
