Former Barcelona star on the verge of joining the La Liga giants

Memphis Depay has reached an agreement with Sevilla to join the Andalusian club on a free transfer.

The Dutch international had terminated his contract with Atletico Madrid by mutual consent this summer, but has yet to choose a new club.

According to Marca, Sevilla will sign Depay to replace Lucas Ocampos, who is expected to leave for Rayados de Monterrey in Mexico.

Depay will sign a one-year contract with Sevilla, and will undergo a preparatory period during the upcoming international break to be ready to play with the team two weeks from now.

This will be Depay’s third experience in La Liga, after playing for Barcelona for a year and then for Atletico, noting that he has scored 22 goals in 61 matches in the Spanish league.
