Adrien Rabiot’s return to the Parc des Princes on Sunday night was met with a hostile reception from Paris Saint-Germain fans.
Rabiot, who moved to PSG’s bitter rivals, Marseille, faced a particularly hostile reaction in the two teams’ 3-1 win over Luis Enrique’s side.
The boos weren’t the only spectacle, but they also included offensive chants and banners directed at Rabiot and his mother, Véronique.
One banner read: “Loyalty to men, betrayal to whores – like mother, like son.”
Six years after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the return was harsh for the French player, who was also booed every time he touched the ball.
Rabiot lashed out at PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in response.
“Insulting a dead mother and father – you will pay for everything one day. You will not enter heaven, believe me.” He then addressed his message to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, saying: “Nasser, you can have all the money in the world, and more, but you cannot buy morals.”
So far, Paris Saint-Germain has not issued any comment on the offensive banners and chants.
