Barcelona star Gavi has praised his teammate Lamine Yamal, considering him the second best player in the world at the moment.
Yamal, 17, shone brightly in Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Real Betis in the Copa del Rey, scoring one goal and making two assists.
After the match, Gavi spoke about Yamal, saying, “After Messi, Yamal is the best player in the world right now.”
He continued, “Of course, Yamal can make his own era, I think it’s ridiculous to compare Yamal to Messi because Messi is unique and no one will be like him.”
He concluded, “In the end, everyone is as they are and makes their own story, and for me, Lamine is the best right now and I hope he continues like this.”
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick agreed with Gavi in his statement, saying that Yamal is indeed the best in the world after Messi.
