The streets of Hamburg witnessed a tragic incident, when German police were forced to shoot a Dutch fan before the start of the Poland match in Euro 2024.
The story began when a fan appeared carrying a cleaver and threatening the crowd in the street, and the police intervened very quickly to save the situation.
At first, the police tried to deal with him in a less violent manner, shooting him with pepper spray in order to knock the cleaver out of his hand, but this did not succeed.
One of the policemen fired a final warning shot in the air at the person, but this did not deter him, so the police were forced to shoot at him and he then fell to the ground.
According to the Daily Mail, this fan did not die, his injury was superficial, and he is now receiving treatment in a hospital in Hamburg.
The northern German city witnessed an exceptional demonstration by Dutch fans, which numbered 40,000, chanting for their country’s national team, hours before the start of Poland’s first match for the Windmills in Euro 2024 at the Volkspark Stadium.
