Good news for Barcelona ahead of Osasuna match

Barcelona received some very good news just days before their much-anticipated match against Osasuna, postponed from Round 27 of La Liga.

Central defender Pau Cubarsi sustained an injury during Spain’s match against the Netherlands in the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals, causing him to miss the second leg and return to the Catalan club.

The 19-year-old’s injury was diagnosed as a sprained right ankle, and there were serious concerns that he would miss the match against Osasuna next Thursday, given Barça’s lack of time.

According to Sport on Monday, Cubarsi has made a significant recovery and will participate in Barcelona’s training on Tuesday, with expectations high that he will be fit for the match against Osasuna.

Cubarsi’s participation in the Osasuna match is crucial for Barça, given the absence of Inigo Martinez due to injury. Ronald Araujo’s absence is also difficult due to his long flight from Uruguay to Spain.

Barça currently has only one available center-back, Eric Garcia, and Cubarsi ‘s return gives Hansi Flick and his squad additional confidence to navigate this crucial La Liga match.

Barça currently leads the La Liga standings, tied with Real Madrid, but with the Catalans having the better goal difference. A victory over Osasuna in the postponed match would secure the top spot, three points ahead of Los Blancos.
