Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola met with legendary striker Zlatan Ibrahimović, who currently serves as a sports advisor for Milan.
City faced Milan in a friendly match in the United States at Yankee Stadium, and before the match, Guardiola and Ibrahimović met for the first time in front of cameras in many years.
The relationship between Ibrahimović and his former coach was never friendly. The Swede accused Guardiola of cowardice and being the reason for his unsuccessful career at Barcelona between 2009 and 2010.
Ibrahimović only played for one year at Barcelona before leaving, explaining that Guardiola mistreated him and did not give him what he deserved as one of the biggest football stars. Guardiola was constantly afraid of Barcelona’s big players, to the point that he often benched him.
Despite the long-standing disagreements, the meeting between the two was friendly, and they exchanged smiles as if nothing had ever happened.
