Guardiola: City have only 1% chance of beating Real Madrid!

Pep Guardiola believes that Manchester City’s chances of beating Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16 play-off are very slim.

City need to win by two goals at the Santiago Bernabeu to qualify for the last 16 after losing the first leg 3-2 at the Etihad.

“The chance of winning at the Santiago Bernabeu after this result is very slim, maybe 1% or less,” Guardiola said of the encounter.

He added: “But as long as there is hope, we will do our best.”

He concluded: “Five minutes before the end, and we were 2-1 up, it was a completely different situation. But now that we are 2-3 down, the chance is very slim. But we will fight and see what happens.”

City beat Newcastle 4-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, and Guardiola said: “We didn’t play at our level in many games, and that affected us in the following games.”
