Pep Guardiola announced his final position on continuing with Manchester City next season, whether his team achieves the domestic double this season or not.
The Spanish coach’s contract with City expires in the summer of 2025, but some press reports said that he may leave early after he succeeded in achieving all possible achievements.
Guardiola responded to this in the press conference for West Ham’s final match of this season in the Premier League, saying, “I have a contract and I want to be here at Manchester City.”
He also added, “My plan is to continue at Manchester City next season. This is a given.”
City management will try to renew Guardiola’s contract, but it is unlikely so far that the Spaniard will agree to that, and for this reason the English club has begun planning for an era after their legendary coach.
Guardiola took over coaching Manchester City in 2016, and since then he has achieved many achievements, most notably the first European title in the club’s history, as well as 5 Premier League titles, and the historic treble.
