Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he would be happy to work in the Italian league but on one condition: that legend Roberto Baggio be his assistant.
Guardiola hosted an Italian programme on Monday where he discussed a number of issues, one of which was his love for Baggio.
“I’m sorry if I cried, I have a lot of affection for Roberto Baggio. I think he got a lot of admiration from everyone around the world,” Guardiola said.
He added, “I don’t think there is a place in Italy that doesn’t love Baggio.”
He concluded, “Coaching in the Italian league? I would agree to that if Baggio agreed to work as my assistant coach.”
It is worth noting that Guardiola played for a year with Baggio and Andrea Pirlo at Brescia before retiring from football.
