Guardiola Responds Definitively on De Bruyne’s Move to the Saudi League

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne will not leave the English club during the current summer transfer window and will remain at least until the end of his contract in the summer of 2025.

The Spanish coach’s comments come hours after reports from the Daily Mail that De Bruyne has reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad’s management to join this summer, with the agreement between the two clubs remaining to complete the deal officially.

Guardiola, during the US tour, held a press conference in which he spoke about various matters, and when asked about De Bruyne, he answered very clearly, saying: “De Bruyne will not leave and will remain with us naturally next season, that is certain.”

At the same time, the Spaniard answered about what City might do in the summer transfer window by saying: “90% of things will remain as they are, I feel comfortable because we have a quality that is very difficult to replace.”

City had already signed Savinho from Girona, their only summer signing so far, but at the same time, it is likely that goalkeeper Ederson will leave for Al-Ittihad, meaning that speculation about signing a giant goalkeeper is incorrect.

With Guardiola’s words, it seems that City has settled on relying on German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega as the main goalkeeper for the next season.
