Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has received great interest from Bayern Munich in the past hours, as the Bavarian management dreams of returning him to coach the team 8 years after his departure to the English club.
The search for a new coach for Bayern is still ongoing after several names rejected Thomas Tuchel’s succession, and Guardiola’s name was recently proposed given his strong relationship with the German club.
According to statements made by Guardiola’s representatives to Sky, Guardiola will remain in his position with Manchester City at least until the end of his contract in the summer of 2025.
Sky published the following, quoting the actor: “Bayern Munich is still in Guardiola’s heart, but he does not want to leave Manchester City this summer.”
He continued, “He is very happy at City and has a contract until 2025, so returning to Bayern Munich is not an option.”
Some English media have indicated the possibility of Guardiola leaving City at the end of the current season, but the matter now seems very unlikely.
