Roy Keane, Manchester United legend, attacked Erling Haaland, Manchester City star, and considered that his level was similar to second-class players.
Kane’s heavy criticism of the Norwegian international came against the backdrop of his disappointing performance during City’s goalless draw with Arsenal.
Kane said about Haaland in media statements, “His level in general is very bad. It is not just about what he presented today. He is in dire need of improvement.”
He also added, “Maybe he is the best player in the world in front of goal, but his play is bad. When you watch him, you feel that he is a player in the second division.”
He concluded, “For me, he is a really great striker and I expect him to improve a lot in the next two years.”
It is noteworthy that Kane is not the only one who criticized Haaland, but also Gary Neville, who mocked the player wasting an opportunity and said that it seemed as if he was playing football for the first time in his life.
It remains to be noted that Haaland scored 29 goals this season and assisted 6 others in 35 matches in all tournaments.
