Harry Kane: I deserve to win the Ballon d’Or!

Bayern Munich star Harry Kane believes that the performances he has shown in recent years should guarantee him the Ballon d’Or one day.

The England international spoke to the French newspaper L’Equipe about this matter, saying: “Of course I think about winning the Ballon d’Or, and I see that the performances I am showing make me a permanent candidate for it.”

He added: “I am improving day by day and I play in teams that are always competing for major tournaments, so if I continue with this performance and win a major tournament like the Champions League, why shouldn’t I win the Ballon d’Or?”

He continued: “I have dreamed of winning the Ballon d’Or since I was young and even during the era of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, that period gave more value to the award.”

Harry Kane was honored for winning the Gerd Müller Award from France Football (top scorer) and commented on this by saying: “Winning the award proves that my decision to move to Bayern Munich was right.”

“The Gerd Müller Award is a reward for the difficulties I had to face in leaving my country for the first time at 30. I know people sometimes underestimate that, but it is very difficult,” he continued.

As for not having achieved any team titles so far, Kane said: “I am confident that the second part of my career, which begins now, will be rich in major titles, and that the issue of not winning titles will not be discussed when I retire.”
