After a long wait, Sergio Ramos has chosen a new club to complete his great career in the world of football.
The Spanish international has been without a club since the end of his contract with Sevilla last June, and has been linked to several Arab, European and Latin American clubs over the past six months.
Ultimately, the Spanish international reached an agreement with Monterrey to move to its ranks for free, and signed contracts that keep him a player there for a year.
This means that the 38-year-old will participate in the 2025 Club World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in the United States of America next summer.
Monterrey is in the group stage of the Club World Cup with River Plate, Inter and Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan.
Ramos has previously won the Club World Cup in its old form 4 times with Real Madrid.
Monterrey boast a number of players with European experience, including former Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos and former Real Madrid player Sergio Canales. Monterrey are fifth in the Mexican league, 12 points behind leaders Cruz Azul.
