Barcelona and Spanish football legend, Andres Iniesta, confirmed that he plans to work in the beautiful game even after retiring.
Iniesta, 40, held a press conference on Tuesday during which he announced his retirement from football as a player after a legendary journey that began with Barcelona in 2003.
Iniesta was asked about his next step after retiring, to announce that he will engage in the field of coaching.
The Barça legend said, “Football was my life and will remain so, I cannot be far away from it.”
He also added, “I have the motivation to work as a coach and I have started working on obtaining the necessary licenses, those who know me know that I am very stubborn.”
As for his return to Barcelona, Iniesta said, “I will only return when I find that I can add something to the club.”
With his coaching career, Iniesta will always be a candidate to work in the future at Barcelona, just as was the case since Xavi Hernandez retired and worked at Al Sadd in Qatar as a coach, until he ended up as coach of the Blaugrana.
