The German “Sky Sports” network reported that Bayern Munich’s management has begun to look at options from the English Premier League, and from outside the big six clubs, to contract with one of them to coach the Bavarian team to succeed Thomas Tuchel.
Five coaches have so far refused to coach Bayern Munich: Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner, and Tuchel has also refused to continue next season despite the management’s attempts to do so in recent weeks.
According to the latest report, Burnley coach Vincent Kompany is attracting a lot of attention from Bayern’s management, and communication has already occurred between the two parties to explore the possibility of the Belgian taking over as coach of the German club.
Kompany does not have much coaching experience. After his retirement, he coached Anderlecht, then supervised the training of Burnley and returned them to the Premier League, before relegating them to the First Division this season.
Although he has not achieved tangible successes, there is belief that Kompany has good technical potential, and that he also has a strong personality that can help him succeed in the Allianz Arena.
It remains to be noted that Kompany is the closest option to coach Bayern, but he is not the only one, as the name of current Brentford coach Thomas Frank appeared on the German club’s list as well.
