Italian media confirmed that Juventus management had decided to immediately dismiss coach Massimiliano Allegri from his position, hours after winning the Italian Cup.
Juventus defeated Atalanta 1-0, in a match that witnessed Allegri’s greatly exaggerated emotions during and after the final whistle, to the point that he attacked journalists and Juventus’ sporting director.
According to reports, Juventus wanted Allegri to leave, but at the end of the season and not two games before the end, but his actions forced the club to take quick action against him.
An interim coach will lead Juventus in the remaining two matches, with a new coach taking over the leadership of the Bianconeri starting next summer.
According to Sky Sports, the current Bologna coach, Thiago Motta, is the most likely to succeed Allegri in Juventus, after the great success he achieved this season and how he led his club to reach the Champions League.
There are already ongoing negotiations between Motta and Juventus, and they are supposed to be in advanced stages, for him to be announced as coach of the Bianconeri in the coming weeks.
