It will no longer be strange to realize why Jurgen Klopp accepted the position of global football director at Red Bull, after Sky revealed his salary.
Klopp cut short his announced year-long sabbatical to return to the world of football as Red Bull manager, where he will oversee six clubs starting next January.
The German’s main task is to advise those clubs and help develop talent.
According to the report, Klopp will receive an annual salary of between 10 and 12 million euros, which is more than he was even receiving at Liverpool.
The Daily Mail reported that Klopp’s salary at Red Bull is more than the salaries of 18 coaches in the Premier League.
Only Pep Guardiola with Manchester City (22 million euros annually) and Mikel Arteta with Arsenal (12 million euros) are the ones who receive a higher salary than Klopp at Red Bull.
It remains to be noted that Klopp included a clause in his contract with Red Bull that would allow him to return to coaching through the German national team if Julian Nagelsmann leaves the Mannschaft after the 2026 World Cup.
