Dani Olmo needed only half an hour to score his first goal for Barcelona.
Barcelona’s efforts to register Olmo after his absence from the first two matches succeeded, after he replaced the injured Andreas Christensen in the Blaugrana squad, and with it he was able to participate in official matches.
The Spanish international replaced Ferran Torres between the halves of the Rayo Vallecano match while the score indicated that the Madrid club was leading by a clean goal.
Pedri was able to score the equalizer for Barcelona in the 60th minute, before Olmo put his first mark with the Catalans.
Olmo received the ball inside the Rayo penalty area, then fired a powerful left-footed shot into the net in the 82nd minute, giving Barca 3 very valuable points.
This is Barcelona’s third consecutive win this season after beating Valencia and Athletic Bilbao in the first two rounds of La Liga, and now Rayo, to raise Hansi Flick’s team’s tally to 9 points at the top of the competition.
In addition to his goal, Olmo won the Man of the Match award.
