The newspaper “L’Equipe” reported that Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has submitted an offer to buy the French club Nantes.
According to the report, Arnold offered to pay 100 million euros to buy shares in the giant French club in talks that began in the past few days.
The Reds star will pay 80 million euros upfront through an investment fund managed by his father, in addition to another 20 million at a later time, and another 40 million in bonuses.
Nantes is currently owned by French businessman Waldemar Kita, and was close to selling it to a wealthy American in recent months before the deal failed due to the disclosure of its secrets to the media.
Nantes is not the only club that Arnold has tried to buy recently, as he tried to acquire Saint-Etienne and Le Havre.
If Arnold succeeds in buying Nantes, he will be the second football star of the current generation to buy a professional club while still playing football, after Kylian Mbappe who bought the French second division club Caen.
