Sky Sports has reported that Inter Milan has submitted a substantial offer for a young Barcelona player this summer.
The player in question is central defender Mika Faye, who has been completely out of Xavi’s plans for the new season, and Barcelona is currently seeking a way out for him.
According to the report, Inter has offered €15 million for Faye, which is an unusual amount for a player who has not played much for the first team.
Inter’s offer is not the first to reach the Senegalese player, as Porto had previously tried to sign the 20-year-old, but the issue was Barcelona’s insistence on including a buy-back clause.
The report did not mention whether Barcelona will again insist on a buy-back clause, which could complicate negotiations, or if the urgent need for funds will make Joan Laporta’s board overlook this and agree to an outright sale of their player.
It is worth noting that if Faye leaves, he will be the second young player to depart Barcelona this week, following Julian Araujo’s move to Bournemouth for €10 million.
