Is Mbappe worth Real Madrid’s money? Disastrous numbers against Barcelona

Criticism towards Kylian Mbappé did not stop after the mediocre performance he showed during Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-2 defeat by Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The statistics show how bad the French international’s performance was at the Parc des Princes Stadium, as he did not score even a single shot on Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s goal.

Mbappe only had two shots throughout the 90 minutes, one of which came wide of the goal, while Barcelona’s defense blocked two shots before they even approached the goal.

Mbappé lost the ball 13 times, while he touched the ball a total of 44 times throughout the match.

What shows the extent of Mbappe’s collapse is that he lost 8 tackles on the ground to Barcelona players and only won two, and he also fell into the offside trap 3 times.

In the past, Mbappe scored 4 goals in only two matches against Barcelona, but this match was the worst and weakest ever for the 25-year-old.

Mbappe will have the opportunity to respond to the criticism and make up for his team’s poor performance in the first leg, when he plays the second leg at the Luis Companis Olympic Stadium next Tuesday.

It is worth noting that Mbappe is on his way to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, and will wear a Real Madrid shirt next season.
