The controversy surrounding Pep Guardiola’s future with Manchester City has ended, after he informed the English club’s officials of his confirmed decision regarding renewal or departure.
According to “The Athletic” network, Guardiola has reached an agreement with the Manchester City management to renew his contract for another year.
The Spanish coach will remain in his position until the summer of 2026, with the option to extend for another year until the summer of 2027.
The matter is expected to be officially announced in the next few hours with the signing of the new contracts that will bring an end to the controversy that has lasted for more than a year.
Thus, Guardiola will complete 10 years in Manchester City, during which he won 17 championships, the most prominent of which was the 2022-2023 Champions League for the first time in the history of the Citizens.
It is noteworthy that Guardiola has been linked in recent months to coaching the England national team and the Brazilian national team.
