All indications point to one fact: Jürgen Klopp will not be Real Madrid’s coach next season, succeeding Carlo Ancelotti.
The German coach was a candidate to coach Los Blancos and was highly favored by President Florentino Pérez, but realistically, he is completely out of the running.
The Telegraph, citing a source close to Klopp, confirmed that the coach does not intend to leave his managerial position at Red Bull anytime soon.
Klopp serves as the company’s chief executive of football, overseeing several clubs, most notably RB Leipzig in Germany and Salzburg in Austria.
Klopp is happy in his position, especially since it allows him time with his family, unlike his work as a coach, which took him away from his private life for years and caused him significant pressure.
In principle, the former Liverpool coach does not intend to return to coaching before the summer of 2026, regardless of the temptations.
Meanwhile, Klopp is leaning toward working as a national team coach, and his contract with Red Bull includes a release clause that allows him to leave only to coach the German national team.
Thus, Xabi Alonso is the most likely coach to succeed Ancelotti at Real Madrid, especially since he is eager for the position, and Bayer Leverkusen’s management would welcome his departure for a fee.
