The Athletic network confirmed that the new Saudi national team coach will be Herve Renard.
The Saudi Football Association dismissed coach Roberto Mancini after increasing criticism against him due to the recent decline in performance and results.
In the past few days, many names have been put forward to succeed Mancini, including Renard and former Brazil coach Tite, as well as Ramon Diaz and Saleh Al-Mohammadi.
According to recent reports, the Saudi Federation chose Renard and completed the agreement with the French coach to return again to lead the “Green”.
Renard coached the Saudi national team from 2019 until his departure in March 2023 to coach the French women’s national team.
Renard is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the Saudi national team, and he led the Green in 45 matches, winning 20, drawing 10 and losing 15.
With Renard, Saudi Arabia achieved its historic victory over Argentina in the 2022 World Cup.
