Juventus Decides to Dismiss Motta Immediately, and His Replacement Is Not Xavi!

Contrary to previous announcements, Juventus’ management has decided to dismiss coach Thiago Motta immediately, rather than waiting until the end of the season.

Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, confirmed after the 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina before the international break that they had renewed confidence in Motta and that he would remain in the position until further notice.

However, it appears that the Bianconeri management has concluded that Motta’s departure is necessary immediately to avoid losing their goals this season, which include a Champions League spot and a good showing in the Club World Cup.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Juventus’ management has already informed the Italian coach of his dismissal and immediately moved to reach an agreement on his replacement.

In recent days, it was announced that Xavi Hernandez would replace Motta next season, but the Spaniard had always stipulated that he would take over starting next season.

Ultimately, Juventus chose Igor Tudor to succeed Motta, considering him to have extensive experience in Italian football and the ability to make an immediate impact on the team and salvage its season.

Tudor headed to Turin to sign a coaching contract with the Old Lady, extending his stay with the football giants until the summer of 2026.

Tudor served as Andrea Pirlo’s assistant coach at Juventus between 2020 and 2021, and enjoyed memorable success with Marseille, as well as his most recent experience with Lazio last season.
